08:36 AM ET 06.13 | On Monday night, Zach Parise wasn't going to talk about his future, but he's only a few weeks from having to decide. [The] expectation remains that the Minnesota Wild will make a very strong push to sign the unrestricted free agent. Former North Stars president and general manager Lou Nanne confirmed as much on Tuesday during his weekly appearance on "Reusse and Mackey" on 1500 ESPN. Nanne said that after talking to Wild owner Craig Leipold last week he believes, "the Wild are going to throw the kitchen sink" at the winger in order to land him. ... "I think there's a good chance he ends up in Minnesota, because I don't see anybody in the National Hockey League willing to give as much to Parise as the Wild are going to be willing to give."

Only the NYR are silly enough to pay as much as the Wild. Does he really want to go there either?

As I said yesterday, some team is going to dramatically overpay for this kids services. He is a good player for sure, but he appears to be looking for superstar $$$ and I don't see him as one of those.

He could take less money and play for a better team like the Wings or even the Devils. Seriously, is there that big a difference between $6 million and $7 million a year? A three year deal and you've got more money that a reasonable person could spend in 10 lifetimes.

I agree...and I don't think he's coming to the NYR. He may be the face of The Wild, if I had to take a guess

It's been reported that he'll go with the team that gives him the best chance to win a SC. The money will be there no matter who he decides to sign with.

maybe they'll "catch" his work ethic. Though if Heatly didn't learn from Alfredsson, there may be no hope for him

The catch is that they won't be outbid by anyone, but they still won't be able to sign him.
