Habs thinking about dealing Subban?

08:38 AM ET 06.13 | The offseason, such as it is, won't much begin in NHL front offices for another few weeks. With the draft coming up a week from Friday, there's a lively debate over whether the Canadiens should try to move up -- or down -- from their No. 3 position. Given the talent available this year, No. 3 appears to be a good spot. ... No matter which way the Canadiens go, the one thing they shouldn't do is trade defenceman P.K. Subban. I'm sure this idea isn't being thrown around when Marc Bergevin assembles his braintrust, but the idea seems to have some traction on fan websites and there are a few folks in the media who feel this would be a better team without Subban. Subban's critics say he's arrogant, that he's uncoachable, that he talks too much.

When he was called up he played great and that continued into his rookie yea, but now he's just another mouthy, dirty player with an attitude.

I see what you did there. Nice.

well...Therrien pretty much spent at least a quarter of his time as guest host of L'Anitchambre on RDS raking Subban over the hot coals. I don't think Therrien had ever even met Subban and him allowed himself some pretty over the top and pretty borderline comments. One of the biggest reasons that I was so surprised that the Habs hired Therrien because of just how much he shot off his mouth and made personnal attacks against most of the guys on the team. Either wya, he'll get to put his money where his mouth is this year because Subban is going ANYWHERE and Therrien's going to have to coach him up.

True that. Still, I can think of a bunch of teams who'd be interested in his services. Unlike some, this is one kid who can still grow up.

If he hopes to enjoy longevity in the NHL, he'll learn.

The Flyers have enough guys who take dumb penalties. Don't need him. Maybe the Pens will try to trade for him. They could use some toughness (paying the tweak forward ;).

Subbans a punk...i remember last season he was in a scrum against Boston and he turtled lying on the ice...course the Boston player didnt wanna pumble him so he skated away...after he skated away Subban got up and had a big smile..so happy he didnt get a beating.

Subban = punk.

I really dont care for him..i hope Boston pays "special attention" to him every game.

June 13, 2012  11:13 AM ET

He's still too young to give up on
