Cho already running the Bobcats?

08:18 AM ET 06.14 | The past few seasons have been a whirlwind for Rich Cho, who has put in time with Seattle, Oklahoma City, Portland and, now, Charlotte. Prior to Cho's arrival, Charlotte unloaded its two best players, Gerald Wallace and Steven Jackson. There wasn't a lot of talent remaining to begin last season. ... [Michael Jordan] became minority owner of the Bobcats in 2006 and ran the club's basketball operations through 2010, when he became majority owner. Since then, he turned basketball ops over to [Rod Higgins], who had served as GM since 2007. Higgins and Cho share front-office duties. Though he is too modest to admit it, Cho is the point man on virtually everything, including the draft, free agency, putting together a summer-league team and the hiring of a coach.

Cho has to be running the team... If it were Rod Higgins, they would've hired the least qualified person to coach the team by now. It's why I'm still without a job!

It'll be interesting to see how Cho approaches this draft. The current roster is awful and I don't think there's any rookies who can carry a team to vast improvement by themselves outside of Davis potential to change a teams defense. To me I think the pick that makes the most sense is Robinson given their total lack of offense/rebounding and that's what he offers.

The other two to consider are Beal or Drummond. Drummond I think has the potential to become an elite big, or he could get you fired. With a roster as bad as this it may be worth the risk.

Taking One For The Team, Bro?

June 14, 2012  10:05 AM ET

Thats what I been trying to tell all these "know it alls" on here that talk about MJ screwing up the pick. Cho has been running the team since he's been here, granted he didnt have an off season to work any deals etc, but he comes on the local sports talk shows and tells the ppl whats going on. Rod Higgins has also been on many times to reinforce the fact the Rich runs the show...that alone provides reason for hope...dude seems to know what hes doing.

And lets not forget that just a few years ago..OKC and MIA were both at the bottom of the league..not sayin the Cats will be contenders soon but that goes to show how futures can change in the NBA. I recall Dallas being a perennial laughing stock while teams like NJ and Toronto were making the playoffs...not that long ago

I wonder how much money Jordon loses with this team every year.

Better swap lottery picks #6 & #11 for #2. The boocats with #2 would draft another adam morrison. None of the blue chip draftees will sign on the dotted line in Charlotte, just ask Brandon Roy. He didn't make any secret of his desire not to play for the boocats. Hoping that The GOAT doesn't put the weight of the world on Harrison Barnes back. Kid can't turn that franchise around by himself.

He has to do commercials like Forsyth Medical Center in W-S, NC to keep the boocats from sinking like the Titanic.

T-Rob would be the pick @ #2 if the boocats keep it. Drummond is like Wesley Snipes in "Disappearing Acts", only shows up to score sometimes ask Sanaa Lathan.

The GOAT is just saving face by keeping his pal on the payroll. By midseason, Higgins will be gone.
