Ravens take creative approach to replace Suggs

08:06 AM ET 06.14 | Not only do the Ravens have the sidebar concern that is Ed Reed, but also the absence of Terrell Suggs to overcome. The loss of [Suggs] is so significant, the Baltimore Ravens don't have one guy trying to replace him. They have two. At least they do now, and, yeah, I know, it's June. But it's a testament to what the loss of the 2011 Defensive Player of the Year means to one of the NFL's premier defenses that Baltimore has Paul Kruger and rookie Courtney Upshaw at his position. For the moment, Upshaw fills Suggs' weakside linebacker spot on first and second downs, while Kruger takes over for Jarret Johnson at the strongside position. Then, on third downs, they switch.
