QB controversy could devour Sanchez

08:10 AM ET 06.15 | So far, there's little indication the Jets' 2012 offseason moves will pay off more handsomely than the 2011 offseason moves. They traded for [Tim Tebow] knowing he is the most popular player in the league and that [Mark Sanchez] might be the most immature quarterback in the league. ... The Jets have no way to prevent the quarterback controversy from devouring Sanchez if he plays as poorly as he did last year. During team drills Thursday, Sanchez took 12 snaps. He was 1-for-10 with one sack and one handoff. On consecutive plays, he threw a pass right to linebacker David Harris, who dropped an easy interception, and then bounced a pass three yards in front of receiver DaMarcus Ganaway. Sanchez looked to be in midseason form. Tebow was 3-for-4 with a fumble and two handoffs in seven snaps.

All Sanchize, all the time at FN.

Nothing like a quality Jets story to start the day. I don't think either one is an NFL starter except with this team. Don't even know that the Fins would start either of them.

LAST PLACE!!!

Saw this story yesterday, "Memphis Man Owes Child Support to 15 Women; Has 20+ Kids". Sounds like someone the Jets should go after. Maybe he played QB in high school and his lack of responsibility would make him a perfect fit for Gangrene.

Why would you bring him in if you are worried about a QB controversy?

You sure that isn't Cromartie?

What kind of team puts their all world qb in this position? Imagine being Mark's parents, I'd be totally embarrassed.

Exactly. They aren't building QBs, just expecting them to go out and win. Sanchez has already proven to have a fragile ego; he's going to implode this season and they may want to think about keeping a close eye on him this season.

Rumors are that Sanchize has asked Vince Young for the name of his pharmacist.

Most popular player in the league? Most inept player in the league .

No, it's one of Cromartie's role models.

What did Sanchez do during the off-season, train with Donovan McNabb?

June 15, 2012  08:34 AM ET

the Jets are completely inept. It was only 3 months ago they did this:

A league source told the Daily News that Sanchez would earn $20.5 million in guarantees for 2012 and 2013. The fourth-year quarterback is set to earn $40.5 million over the final three years. The total value of his new-look five-year deal is $58.25 million.

June 15, 2012  08:34 AM ET

they guarantee Sanchez 10 mil a year for the next 2 to reduce his cap number, then bring in Tebow.

Amazing.

Better than patrolling high school parking lots.

The Tebow Effect is in full swing. Couldn't of happened to a better team.

June 15, 2012  08:38 AM ET

The Jets will win the Superbowl this year. Thank you.

It sounds like they'll be needing a new coach, QB, and GM before too much longer.
