08:18 AM ET 06.15 | As one might imagine, Dusty Baker didn't take kindly to Derek Lowe's postgame rant against him. Lowe said he didn't respect Baker over some incident a few years ago. ... "I really don't care if he respects me. It doesn't matter. No. 1, you've got to ask him why he hit Joey Votto in the back two years ago. [On Wednesday], he took exception to a ball inside that didn't hit him, then hit Brandon Phillips after that. I'm not denying nothing. I didn't order anyone to hit him. I told (Mat Latos) to buzz him and make him uncomfortable. That's what happened. Nobody hit him. Then he hit our guy. What he was talking about was something that he said and did a few years. You got to ask him what that was."

At the risk of getting buzzed by a Reds pitcher, I will state that I haven't respected Baker since he put his 5 year in a uniform and on the field during a World Series game. He is the worst in game tactician among MLB managers and even if he has team full of 'roiders playing over their abilities, he will still find a way to lose the big one.

This is stupid storey....Pitchers buzz players all the time to get them off the plate or make them uncomfortable......but if your going to throw at Votto and Phillips you better expect some retaliation to come.

QUOTE(#5):

Baker is a subpar manager at best. I would like him to explain why he had to walk out to the mound in the 9th inning of the game on Tuesday to speak with Johnny Cueto (sic) just to let him throw one more pitch to end the game?I know why, because he is a showman, its all about HIM

He was going to pull him after Cueto gave up a couple of hits, but Cueto insisted on staying in so Baker told him one more batter.

It is one of the problems with the game today no one pitches inside or brushes batters back. If it happens the batter wants to charge the mound and the ump then will eject the pitcher. I would like to see some of these cry babies hit against Bob Gibson.

you shouldn't revenge yourself,,,, but how can you avoid been soo blinded???

A manager and a player on an opposing team shouldn't be airing out their dislike of one another. Who cares?

Baker mentioning something Lowe did two years ago doesn't help his case. Lowe shouldn't be talking trash about Baker either. Do your talking on the field, especially if you are the manager... keep it in-house. That is why I don't like yappy managers like Valentine, Baker and the King of all blab Ozzie Guillen. Show a little class and respect for the game.

Hey! i think latos just buzzed me!

Gee, all these experts who could out-manage Dusty Baker! Baker's record of success is just a fluke, I suppose. He was named Manager of the Year three times, and has an overall winning percentage of .521. His team is in first place in the NL Central. He is, quite simply, a rotten baseball man! Cincinnati should get rid of him! Replace him with one of his loudmouth critics. That is what I propose. After all, I hate the city of Cincinnati, and certainly hope its MLB team fails!

I don't like him because he killed Mark Priors career.
