Boston may have trouble dealing 'terrible' Youk

08:23 AM ET 06.15 | It may be time for a change of scenery for Kevin Youkilis, but moving him won't be easy at his current pace. [It] appears scouting reports are not favorable right now for the player whose career .875 OPS is stellar (it's a pedestrian .655 this year). One scout with an AL team said he believes Youkilis "has some gas left in the tank," but that scout hasn't seen him since May. The ones who have been to Red Sox games more recently are less flattering. ... "Terrible," another scout said, adding he didn't believe Youkilis was getting to the fastball lately. One GM, in discussing a potential Youkilis trade market, said flatly, "Good luck with that." Of course reports can easily swing from bad to good, or back, as Youkilis' fortunes certainly have.

Yesterday's thread was that he was not going to be traded.

So which is it?

This is why Cherington said that Youk is not on the market. There is currently no market for Youk. He has to prove that he is healthy and can still get on base.

Sounds like no one wants to absorb his salary for the balance of the year either.

Yes, he will be traded.

Yes, the Sox won't get much back.

Yes, they'll eat about 30% of the contract.

Want Bay back?

Nope. that's getting negative back. Bay's actually worse and has a bigger contract.
