Coach K: Paterno's firing a horrible mistake

Anything that he had done for the university is now overshadowed by Sandusky's sickening crimes. Paterno should have done more.

I understand K's point even though I'm not sure that I agree with it. Paterno should minimally have been suspended for a year and other sanctions applied. Was firing him too extreme? Perhaps. And the way it was done was clumsy.

Funny how a few dozen cases of CHILD MOLESTATION oversahdows some damn wins in college athletics. Sorry Coach K, you are wrong on this one.

I could give a s-H_T if it were a coach or a chief of staff at a hospital that cured cancer. IF this happens on your watch and you knew or should have known and not stopped it.......the hell with you and your reputation.

Coach K, let Wojokowski go mollest a few kids and hide it for him & see what the fine folks in North Carolina do to you

Yes I totally agree. It's very hard to imagine that Paterno worked right next to this guy for 20/30 years and didn't know what kind of man Sandusky was/is!!!!! IMO Paterno was just as bad as Sandusky!!!!!!

Doing great, 0-6! Little on is 8 months old. She sleeps great and is a REALLY happy baby. Really laid back and easy to care for. Good thing, when you have an "OH S_H-IT" baby at 40, it's nice for God to give you an easy one.

Sorry Coach K. The only thing I agree with you on is how the Penn State leadership handled it. Other than that, I can't agree with you on this one...but I know you won't lose any sleep over me not agreeing with you.

Coach K only has to look at what Duke did with its lacrosse coach a few years ago. You are judged not only by what your players and coaches do for you on the field but also by what the do away from it.

Coach K has just lost any and all respect I might have had for him with this insanely obtuse comment. I don't care who or what Paterno did for how long at what school, he turned his back on kids being abused and he should have been thrown in jail and suffer similar abuses. Paterno, and anyone else who doesn't stop child abuse should be tortured. Is it just a Catholic thing? We can do whatever we want to kids and in the end just say a prayer and it's all good? Absolutely sickening.

I understand coach K's point, and, while I have a lot of respect for him, he's wrong on this one. Paterno should have done more when he found out what was going on. He had to go.

Penn State was trying to cover up what was going on.They needed someone to haug this on so they went afer coach Paterno to cover their butts.Coach Paterno did report this to the higher ups but they blew him off.All this will come out in the wash and the higher ups will swing.

In Kansas City this AM....drove up here last night with my lovely bride. Half way to Omaha & headed there this morning to watch the CWS and follow my little piggies. Left the baby at home and 1 other for a baseball tourney....traveling w/ only 2 kids seems easy.

JoePa was just as bad as Sandusky? Now that's not only wrong but totally absurd.

Joe Pa was in charge of a big cover up that went on for years at Happy Valley. It wasn't the pristine program that most people thought it to be.

Maybe I was a little harsh on Joe. I should have said, that Joe must have known what Sandusky was doing, hell he worked right along side of the man for 20/30 years!!!! Do we know for sure if Paterno talked to Sankusky after McQueary told Joe of the incident in the shower with Sandkusky and the kid??? Joe should have spoke with Sandusky about the incident.
