Humphries trying to shed celebrity past

07:49 AM ET 06.17 | Kris Humphries is telling his side of the story these days, only it has nothing to do with Kim Kardashian and a lot to do with basketball. He is still trying to make the world understand: He is a basketball player with an unbending commitment to his sport, not the hard-luck celebrity who became a punch line in gossip magazines. Humphries is sitting for an interview in a downtown Manhattan hotel last week, exhausted after a day-long media blitz, but eager to sell himself as a valuable, trustworthy basketball player.

I think its kinda sad that he's attacked by morons nationwide with these insults. Who actually give a damn about a family of second rate "B" movie starletts trying to make an impression on us. Its rather sad it seems, that most of America can villianize an excellent fill your needs team player in Humphries over this stunt. I appluad Chris in that it doesn't seem to affect him at all during games. He just goes about his business and proforms with solid contributions on a nightly basis. I like this kid. He made a tragic decision in marrying that second rate stunt, but everyone knew she committed a fraud sham of a marriage for publicity and now you have all these morons blaming Chris. You really should feel sorry for them and not Chris IMO.

Also.......I'd take Hump for Stat any day and be happy with it. Then all you Stat lovers can applaud the Stat/Williams connection in Brooklyn.

This mess could have been avoided had Chris watched "Return of the Jedi" and hear Admiral Ackbar shout out "It's a trap!"
Lamar Odom should be getting this type of hate from fans, not Chris. Odom cried about being traded and quit on his new team. At least Chris showed up for his teammates.

Please inform the JGB guy of such........this guy is way off base on everything. He now as mindboggling as it seems, is suggesting that Humphries doesn't give his all.......I think not! Humphries is an effort machine on a nightly basis and never takes off and a play and yet JGB have critisim for him.....go figure.

Good for him. All the hate he received was undeserved. I just hope that after this or soon after he'll let it go and focus entirely on basketball.

Problem is Kris' game is on mute, keeping it real. Dude needs a reality check and focus on being a beast by turning the Brooklyn Nets into a contender within 3 yrs.
