Can Manning's no-huddle cure Broncos' AFC West woes?

09:08 AM ET 06.17 | Peyton Manning's most important task in his first season with the Broncos? Figure out how to beat the Oakland Raiders in his new home. It's long past time for the Broncos to again suffocate the likes of the Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs in games played at mile-high altitude. Here's a weird stat: The Broncos in the past three seasons are 1-8 at home against their AFC West foes from Oakland, San Diego and Kansas City. In that same span, the Broncos are 6-3 on the road against division opponents. What a spray gun is to painting, what a microwave is to cooking, what Internet shopping is to credit-card debt, Manning's no-huddle offense must be to the Broncos' offense. "You can't just say no-huddle," Elvis Dumervil said. "We have to play good defense. We have to play good special teams. We have to take care of the ball. Obviously, the no-huddle is going to be a major part in that department."

Manning managing the team on the offense alone will bring the Broncos 7 more wins right from the start. The man is a walking playbook. Once he retires, he will be the most desired offensive coach ever.

Didn't realize just how poorly they'd been doing at home. Kinda takes away from that "Mile High Mystique".

What does Dumb'er ville know about No-Huddle? The Raiders own 'em and don't look like that will change. I would worry about Peyton's blind side, that could be a problem all year.

What no "Bounty" posts today?

I didn't realize that either.

I do think, however, that the Chargers are on the downward swing. I think Norv gets fired during the season or at the end of the year. He's simply had too much time to produce no results.

Still can't believe he hasn't been fired over the past couple of seasons.

Now that's what I call setting the bar low.

You'd think his most important task would be getting completely healthy...

15-1. Nice.

Living in Denver should condition the Broncos better for the altitude. No-huddle is effective when the defense gets tired. With better conditioning, it should favor the high-altitude team.

Even so, the AFC West is no better this year than last, and Denver should win it by default.

You have to think KC will be better getting their guys back from injury, no?

Peyton Should stabilize the offense and they should win there Division, that being said, I don't see any of those teams in The West laying down and handing him anything, he should win but it won't be easy!

Pass whatever you are smoking. Broncos 15-1? Ha!

The Chargers had an off year last year. I wouldn't bury them yet.

Not my claim. The guy in comment 1 said Manning will be good for 7 more wins. They won 8 games (9 including the playoff win) so I merely added 7 to 8 and then....through the wonder of mathematics, I arrived at 15.

I say they lose 5 more games than they lost regular season last year. So, they'll be, let's see . . . carry the 2 . . . ah, yes, 3-13. You read it here first!

At least Tebow won't be around (as a Bronco) to humiliate the Raiders again.
