Luck's O-line already in flux

08:08 AM ET 06.18 | Thanks in some part to injuries to his team during minicamp, Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said that very few positions were settled. For instance, the club's top two picks a year ago, OLT Anthony Castonzo (ankle) and OG-OT Ben Ijalana (knee), have yet to participate in on-field work this offseason. We hear Castonzo, who had his share of growing pains as a rookie but showed great toughness while playing through injuries much of the season, is penciled in at left tackle. The coaching staff has plenty of tape on Castonzo but the same can't be said for Ijalana, who will battle with Joe Reitz for the opening at left guard. Reitz also was limited in last week's minicamp.

They'll add a stud with the #1 overall pick next year.

Luck's bowels are going to be in flux when he sees the opposing defensive linemen and linebackers coming at him this season.

June 18, 2012  08:28 AM ET

Maybe they should have drafted a more "mobile" QB ?

HAIL!!!!!

Good Luck Andrew...

He'll take a beating his first year (much like Peyton and Troy Aikman did) and he'll get progressively better and better each year after. Welcome to the NFL Andrew.

Don't worry they'll Flux It!!!

Nothing but Handoffs and 3 step drops

I see a Southwest Airlines commercial in his future - WANNA GET AWAY?

Not necessarily. I remember a couple guys--one was Joey Harrington and the other was David Carr--who showed a lot of promise. But these guys had to run for their lives most of the time, and it had a significant effect on their careers.

Besides, anybody realize that Andrew Luck had a very solid running game while at Stanford? Not so much in Indy.

You hope. I remember a few other qb's that went number 1 that were hyped, that took a beating. Ryan Leaf (went # 2) and David Carr. Both were supposed to be the next big thing. Both took beatings as rookies. How'd that turn out...

Yes, he could turn into D. Carr or R. Leaf but I just don't see it happening. He's a smart kid (Stanford grad) with all the physical tools to be successful in the NFL. As long as they don't expect him to do too much too soon he should survive the baptism by fire he's about to endure.

Leaf didn't flame out because he got beat up his first year. He would have flamed out behind the best o-line in the game. He was a head case who would have failed no matter where he went.

I hope he has Manning's neck Doctor on speed dial...

Good Luck Andrew!!!

Saw the kid play twice and was somewhat impressed but in those two games he had all day to pass. He's a smart kid with a good arm so I predict he will be a bust. the pass rush will ruin him.

Too little to late it is what it is.
