Hawk feeling the heat in Green Bay

08:09 AM ET 06.18 | Though coaches were quick to point out that A.J. Hawk had a very productive 2011, Hawk's big-play impact fell off a bit. Ever the workout fanatic, Hawk said he tried to get a little lighter this offseason. He said he weighed 238 pounds during [last week's] minicamp, down from the 245 he played at in college at Ohio State and the 240 pounds he was last season. He said he might even shed a few more pounds this summer if he thinks it will help him move better. There's been no indication this offseason that Hawk's starting job is in jeopardy even though last year rookie D.J. Smith played well during the late season stint in which Hawk and fellow starting inside linebacker Desmond Bishop were out with calf injuries.

Sorry but after I read about that guy the Bills have who dropped 70lbs to try and make the team, these 5 and 6 pound stories are just yawns

Roid him up again, he'll be ready.

June 18, 2012  08:27 AM ET

This is the exact same story about Hawk from last year at this time.

OK, so if his coaches say he had "a very productive 2011," then does that mean it was the other 10 starters that were responsible for one very pathetic defense?

Funny part is they would say the same thing about the other 10 guys if asked by a reporter. " very productive."

Just changing hair conditioners should amount to half of that.

If he got this hair cut, that could give him another five pounds off his weight.

Worse. If you get the interns really annoyed they will bring out the one who should remain unnamed and begin the nameless one watch for this year.

Relly like my ex. "Do you think I need to lose weight?" So it's either yes. or no it wouldn't help. Same with this guy, quit getting hurt.
