08:28 AM ET 06.18 | Good news, Rangers fans. Right-hander Roy Oswalt, heading for a return to the majors with the Texas Rangers, had his longest minor-league outing yet on Sunday night. Oswalt went six innings, allowing six hits and two runs, for Triple-A Round Rock against Oklahoma City (Houston.) Oswalt threw 100 pitches. This marked the first time Oswalt had worked more than four innings in four minor-league outings. General manager Jon Daniels said the club will review Oswalt's outing before determining the next step. His next turn would come up on Friday. Right-hander Justin Grimm, who won his major-league debut on Saturday against Houston, could also make that start.

This a no brainer if you are the GM. Who starts on Friday a man making millions in the minors or a rookie probably making rookie pay in the bigs.

That's one small step for a 23-year-old, one giant leap for Roy Oswalt.

I'm sure financial considerations are precisely what will determine who starts in their rotation this weekend. Well played, sir.

On the other hand, as good as Grimm's start was, and as uncertain as Oswald's stamina still is, I could see them pushing Oswald's start back a day and giving the other starters (Lewis, Darvish, Harrison) who are doing well another day's rest. Apparently Feliz will NOT return to the rotation when he gets of the DL.

This is making no sense to me. Colby Lewis should be starting on Friday. That would be his normal day to pitch as he pitched Sunday night.

Wash has regularly been giving the starters a day or so extra rest since late May -- keep 'em fresh for October.

Did you see Grimm pitch? That was one vicious 12-to-6 curve , there. We like kids in Texas. If and when , he'll be replacing Feldman. Ogando goes back to the pen. Grimm probably goes when Feliz comes back , but it won't be for long.
