Giants worried about Nicks?

08:05 AM ET 06.19 | As the Giants closed up shop for the very short offseason, a few issues remained open, among them the health of Hakeem Nicks. I sensed a little worry in Kevin Gilbride's voice about [Nicks], who has a broken foot and likely won't be back until the middle of training camp -- the Giants hope. Maybe it's nothing, or maybe it's just a coach fretting over depth. There is some potential depth at receiver, but not a lot of proven depth. And as good as Victor Cruz was last season, no one knows how he'll fare without Hakeem Nicks or Mario Manningham to take away some of the attention of the defense. If it's Cruz and Randle or Barden lining up as the starting WRs on opening night, the offense could look a lot different.

This happens every year with the Giants, and one of the reasons they made the late SB run last season was that all their receivers got healthy at the same time. One player not mentioned in the article, Dominik Hixon, was a potential star as a rookie but has had two major knee injuries since. Plus no dependable TE. It's the usual pre-season worries.

They just replaced the picture with one of Victor Cruz. This is too good. I'm waiting for a shot of Goodell to appear next, or maybe the picture of Tebow and his finger.

Of course he is worried about Nicks, and the TE position. Bennett at 290 lbs. is not the answer to any question except who is the heaviest TE in the NFL.

The thing is he's 290 of Muscle. He got a little crazy working out in the offseason and turned himself into Ronnie Coleman. Not good for the knees and no good for the amount of running the Giants do.
