Another decade of Brey in South Bend?

08:26 AM ET 06.19 | Notre Dame may indeed wind up being Mike Brey's last stop. [Brey] hasn't lately demonstrated any interest in leaving Notre Dame, a place he views as an ideal fit. And now he probably never will. The Irish men's basketball coach has agreed to a contract extension, the school announced Monday, with a source telling the Tribune that the deal will run for 10 years. That massive commitment theoretically will keep the 53-year-old Brey, who has led the Irish to six straight 20-win seasons and nine straight overall, on the sidelines through the end of his career. He has been at Notre Dame for 12 seasons, three times earning Big East coach of the year honors while compiling a 124-75 record in league play and essentially resuscitating a program.

OK, but from 1991-2000 that team never even made it to the Tournament. MaCleod and Doherty had a combined record of 128-139. At least Brey puts them back in the conversation. Know a good thing when you see it, and just who would be available that would do better?
