08:10 AM ET 06.20 | Though as the man who acquired Brett Favre for a first-round draft pick in 1992, Ron Wolf may be biased, he still had some strong words when asked about how Favre left town. Q. You were the man responsible for bringing quarterback Brett Favre to the Packers. How do you feel about the way the two sides parted ways? A: I'm not familiar with any schism, because I'm not around here. He retired, and I watched all of that from Florida. And then suddenly he came back. ... To me, Brett Favre and I are like connected at the hips. I feel strong loyalty to Brett Favre. When I got here, Don Huston was the greatest player ever to play for the Green Bay Packers. I think everybody will tell you now, the greatest player ever to play for the Packers is Brett Favre. That's his legacy.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO. See I told you all not to pissoff the interns!!! The nameless one has been brought out again

The "Greatest Packer Player" never met Vince Lombardi? I dunno about that.

June 20, 2012  08:20 AM ET

As a share holder, my vote is Vince Lombardi.

But player, I'd vote for Don.

He's not even the greatest QB. He may have been more flambouyant on the field, but Starr was the better player.

Hornung, Starr, Kramer, McGee, Nitschke...there's some tough competition for that honor.

June 20, 2012  08:25 AM ET

They couldn't find a picture of him in a Packer uniform?

June 20, 2012  08:27 AM ET

Maybe the best at "Pack"ing his bags to get outta town.

June 20, 2012  08:30 AM ET

Well I guess if you look at how many games he played only.........................

June 20, 2012  08:30 AM ET

Let's see Brett Fave One Super Bowl win, Bart Starr 2 Super Bowl Wins, that eliminates Brett!!!

Reggie White, anyone?

Wow... a Favre thread.

I see the interns are dusting off the oldies today.

Mercenaries don't count.

Must be has-been day on T & R.

June 20, 2012  08:51 AM ET

Aren't the Green Bay faithful screaming blasphemy about having a Packers thread with a picture of their former quarterback in a Vikings uniform?

You called that one Steeler!

And Bart Starr played most of his career before the Superbowl era. He called his own plays, too.

June 20, 2012  08:56 AM ET

I would only choose a lifetime Packer for that honor.

By that logic, Bobby Orr would be ineligible for the title of Greatest Bruin Ever, although I don't think anyone would say he's not.

Greatest Saint ever? Not Drew Brees?

Greatest Jet ever? Not Jen Sterger?
