08:11 AM ET 06.20 | While some scoffed, Mike Dunlap found a longtime ally in George Karl on Tuesday. Dunlap joined the Nuggets' close-knit staff in 2006, sharing his fascinating defensive concepts and motivational tactics with Karl and the young coaching proteges on the bench. Tuesday, Karl said Dunlap "might be the brightest, smartest guy I've ever been around. He is a great soldier for basketball and coaching -- his brilliance has always been there. If you work with him, if you're around him, you know he's a committed, passionate guy who will do anything it takes to get his team better -- and get his team in a place that's constantly improving. He's a great teacher of the game. And he loves being in the gym."

They pushed the Lakers to 7 games... I think their a piece away from contending for a title...

We'll see...that's a good co-sign from Karl but the building of TALENT will be the key for the front office

It Won't Matter, Bro.

Not many people knew who Frank Vogel, Erick Spoelstra, Stan Van Gundy, Scotty Brooks, Mike Brown, and Tom Thibadeau were either. It doesn't mean that he will not make a positive impact on the Bobcats. Gibe Jordan credit for thinking out of the box on this pick. His team will stink no matter what. Might as well give the reins to a newbie and pay less money than pay big money to a big name and have the same result.

If Dunlap manages to get the Cats into double figure wins next season he'll be an unmitigated success.

Brilliance matters when you are working on the cure for cancer. Brilliance in coaching is a function of the players you have.
