Henrique on Parise: 'I think he wants to come back'

08:28 AM ET 06.20 | If it were up to Adam Henrique -- and, very likely, every single Devils fan and every single player on the team's roster -- Zach Parise would sign with the Devils on July 1. [Henrique] will be closely monitoring what happens with [Parise], who can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. "It's been there all year, the questions for him," Henrique said. "I'm sure they've always been there. He's a huge part of our team, he's the cornerstone and a guy that we rely on heavily. He's a big reason why we got to the finals. So I want to see him back. I think he wants to come back and I'm sure everybody in New Jersey wants him back. Hope to see him there for camp."

From reading this article, I have a question. Which is more, every single Devils fan or every single player on the team roster?

Maybe he's implying that the higher percentage of fans want him back rather than a higher percentage of players. Hmm, what don't we know about Zach in the lockerroom?

My question is: this rookie had a good post-season, so now he's an expert on things?

This is not true, i hope he signs before 7/1

What other team came that close to the prize. I think he'll stay.

As a fellow Minnesotan and Wild fan i would love to see him play here but if it takes a money truck to sign him (which it will), i hope he stays in Jersey. They drafted, developed, and came close to winning a cup with him. He should stay.

In a perfect world he probably would like to stay in NJ, but the ownership situation must certainly be weighing in on his decision.

That's weight one; weight two is how long his goalie, that played lights out to get them that far into the summer, will be playing...if at all for this team come next year. I would agree on face value I'd expect him to re-sign, but those two things are something he HAS to think about.

Good, fair question...

So weight 2 is about the weight also (tweak on my own goalie). But I don't think ownership has much to do with it, as long as they can pay him, which obviously they will be able too, but that's just me.

How could anyone want to re-sign in Jersey now? Ownership problems... Marty is nearing his end, b-o-r-i-n-g style of play... Lou must have some kind of voodoo thing going on there. He should be running to a team with a higher profile, more marketing opportunities, fit an offensive style.. Kings? Sharks? Red Wings?

I was waiting for it and most appropriately it came from you Birdy.

It all comes down to Jerry Maguire's immortal philosophy: "Show Me The Money!"
