08:17 AM ET 06.21 | That ticking clock is the non-waiver trade deadline, now less than six weeks away. [The] cavalcade of scouting stars is under way. Tuesday night in Houston, sources say representatives for the Yankees, Giants, Dodgers, Red Sox and Blue Jays were in attendance as left-hander Wandy Rodriguez allowed two earned runs over seven innings in a 2-0 loss to the Kansas City Royals. The Astros will listen to offers for Rodriguez, sources say. Interested clubs are aware Rodriguez could have two years and $26 million left on his contract beyond this year, if he reaches the performance bonuses necessary to trigger the club option for 2014. Rodriguez, 6-5 with a 3.29 ERA this season, has made 30 or more starts in each of the past three years.

He's overpaid at $13M a year for two years, but he's pitched well this year. He could definitely help someone down the stretch.

It would appear that Stro's ownership will have to eat some of his contract in order to entice another team to trade for him.

In terms of MLB pitchers, Wandy is probably just above average. $13 million? Not worth it.

Yep. It's just a matter of how much they'd have to eat, most likely.

If I am a GM looking for help it is not in Houston. Why would you take on that monster of a contract and in return give up some of your future. For that price you could get at least 2 players that could help you win.

An ERA of 3.29 is just 0.04 higher than Cole Hamels. It's lower than Shaun Marcum, Joe Saunders, Cliff Lee, AJ Burnett, Mark Buerhle, Roy Halladay, Matt Garza, Ian Kennedy. He hasn't an ERA over 3.60 since 2007. Tell me again how he's overpaid and only just above average?
