Case for the Badgers in the BCS title hunt

08:18 AM ET 06.21 | Though Russell Wilson has moved on, Wisconsin has another promising transfer in Danny O'Brien to drive the offense through a schedule that sets up nicely. [O'Brien] unquestionably has upgraded the quarterback position for new offensive coordinator Matt Canada. ... Wisconsin's Big Ten opener at Nebraska and league finale at Penn State are the only major conference road tests the team will face besides a tricky nonconference game at Oregon State early in the year. The Badgers get Michigan State and Ohio State at home, while they miss Michigan on the schedule. If O'Brien can revert back to his 2010 form when he was named the ACC newcomer of the year, the Badgers could find themselves back in the Rose Bowl. Or perhaps in the BCS national championship game.

Congrats on the CWS.. Got to like your chances with the way things are playing out

Thx LUS

We shall see.....USC jr has to play a double-header today. Rain out helped us IMHO. We're starting Fant. IF we can get to the championship series and have Baxendale and Staneck ready to go, yeah I like our chances.

Heading back up @ Noon today

I agree.... Heck I would even root for Kent State...Chances are their staff is not as deep as SCe...Have fun and safe drive

I can root for Kent St, but I don't think it'll matter.....of course I didn't think they would send Fla home, either.

USC jr. will have to earn it if they get thru. Win 3 games in 2 days and I'll tip my hat to them. Gotta think they'd be shot tho and easy pickins for Ariz or FSU.

Fun trip...miss the LUS fans tho.....those dudes knew how to party in Omaha

This is a follow up story to the one the NFP ran yesterday about VT as a dark horse candidate for the MNC. I read the whole article after I got home last night. They included Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina and Michigan State as dark horse candidates along with VT. Not sure any of these teams will be ranked high enough at the start of the season (except UGa) to have a shot at being ranked 1 or 2 at the end of the year.

I've been puzzled by Wisky's modus operandi as of late where QB transfers are concerned. Seems to be an anomaly in an otherwise solid recruiting pattern.

I think they got hit by the injury bug to a couple of guys they had in the pipeline. At any rate, Wilson was a big step up in talent from their previous QBs.
