Third-leading scorer bolting Isles

Said it before, i'll say it again - Jason Blake 2.0.

It's unclear, though, whether Parenteau wants to test free agency to see what kind of money he can get somewhere else or if the Islanders don't want him back.

Hmmm...I wonder which one of these 2 reasons it could be?

It definitely sounds more impressive to say "third leading goal scorer" than he had 18 goals. Somehow I don't see him making much more than what he did last year.

Seeing Garth Snow as a GM still makes me chuckle

semantics do seem to inflate the tag line, eh?

Some of these players need to wake up and think the man upstairs for the position they are in today. But it is the same old story with most of them I am greedy show me the money.

Sounds to me like if he is bolting...he has Tampa in mind for a destination. J.T should get out of there too.

The 29-year-old was the Isles' third-leading scorer -- he had 18 goals and 49 assists in 80 games -- and made just $1.25 million. But some believe his point total was inflated by playing with John Tavares

If 18 goals is inflated....he ought to take his $1.25 and be happy

And belated Congrats on the Kings

I knew this guy was going to walk. Truth be told, he's a gifted passer and has some decent hands but the bottom line is he was a flopper and complete wuss. He can take his 18 goals elsewhere.

.....and yes, he's a Jason Blake 2.0 but without the 40 goal season to back it up.

No one should pay this guy more than $2m per season. His stats were absolutely inflated because of the PP time and playing time with JT. I think Ryan Strome could replace PAP's numbers in a heartbeat and he's barely NHL ready.

Lastly, I'm not sure which is worse, the picture of Garth or the Rickety pic with the pink pads. Can we get a friggen Moulson or JT stock photo for crying out loud!!!
