08:08 AM ET 06.22 | Welcome back, Sammy Morris? With a pair of second-year running backs expected to lead the Patriots ground game, expect Bill Belichick to make sure there will be a reliable veteran in the mix for leadership and peace of mind. That might lead to the return of [Morris]. Morris played for the Pats from 2007-10 before he was released last training camp. The 35-year-old said he discussed a potential reunion for 2012, but nothing is set in stone. Still, the interest is mutual. "It's definitely reciprocal," Morris said. "I'm still here. My family is here. My kids still go to school here, so it's definitely reciprocal. I've been around a while, so I kind of just know the deal. Words are one thing, but all I can do is take care of my part."

Sammy Morris hasn't been effective for years. They'd be better off taking a gamble on some undrafted college kid.

I'd rather have Kevin Faulk back.

I think he's officially still with the team. I don't think he ever really recovered from his injuries, though.

But yeah, he was missed last year.

I think that's why they're bringing him in. To fill the void left by Ochocinco.

The Pats should retire that number in shame.

Can't start doing that. Then they'll have to do the same for the Haynesworth experiment.

The are lucky to get one full game out of these old backs before they tweak a hammie and end up on the IR.

Nick Buouniconti, Julius Adams. The number has been worn with distinction. Chad probably just thought he was getting the number of a second year player (Hernandez).

BB will get his vet RB when cuts are made as rosters trim down. And 35 year old Sam is not it.

Note: For players with 10 years or more of service, the minimum salary is $910,000.

Not going to happen Sammy, not for a near million bucks.

BB is great at bringing back players from the Grave, I really admire him, he's so easy to dislike!

I thought the Pats already have 4 RB's in Woodhead, Ridley, Vereen and Addai?

June 22, 2012  09:33 AM ET

Morris didn't embarass himself here when all of our RB's got hurt...

Patriots could do much worse.

"Void" and "Ochocinco". Those two words belong together.
