08:09 AM ET 06.22 | Under the circumstances, Vince Young has been a willing student for Chan Gailey, which isn't to say Young's work is done. [Gailey] conceded Young is having trouble picking up nuances of the offense. Since Gailey joined the Bills two seasons ago, he continually has added elements to the offense as quickly as starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and his teammates have been able to absorb them. ... Gailey admitted that gives Tyler Thigpen a bit of an edge in the backup quarterback battle. This is Thigpen's second season with the Bills. Gailey also was Thigpen's offensive coordinator with the Kansas City Chiefs. Thigpen's edge, though, might not be enough to overcome Young's obvious strengths as an athlete.

VY's "obvious strengths as an athlete" have really helped him to this point.

Looks like they're not planning to replace Fitzpatrick any time soon.

Young is the Ochocinco of NFL QB's.

Ryan Fitzpatrick may be the Number 2 quarterback in the AFC East.

Think about it.

But Andy Reid said VY is toooo goood to be a back up and that is why he let him go.

Had some pretty good years with the Titans and I think the Bills got him for minimal money. Not the worst back up in the nfl I think

Athleticism does not win games. Intelligence, poise, ability to read routes, ability to read defenses, and pocket presence win games. Young, like the white version of Young (little Timmy) are merely products of social promotion in the NFL.

Gailey has no idea the amount of venom in VY's attitude. Good luck with that when he's on the bench not playing. As for Ryan he better get it together this year. Last year was a bust.
