08:33 AM ET 06.22 | In an informal online newspaper poll, 55 percent of voters gave Brian Burke a D or an F, but that would all likely change with a better on-ice record. [Burke] may be trying to soft-pedal the importance of acquiring a veteran goaltender but make no mistake -- it is the move most crucial to the rest of his reign as president and general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs. ... The 2012-13 season will be Burke's fourth full campaign in charge of the Maple Leafs. He has to show marked improvement this fall and winter, presuming the labour situation allows for at least part of a season, or Burke will have to do some fast talking to the Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment board of directors.

Trade Kadri + Schenn for Jordan Staal (though it looks like he will want to leave and go to the Canes July 1st next season)

Gunnarsson + 5th Overall + 35th Overall for 1st Overall

Wow only 55% that means 45% believe he is doing satisfactory or better.

I kinda want the Leafs to miss the playoffs again. Get rid of all these idiots.

Bring in Dallas Eakins as coach next season, with someone like Julien BriseBois as the GM.

As a hockey fan and sometime humourist, I demand that Lord Irk be given a lifetime contract with the league. We need the weekly "Irking". This (the racetrack shot) is my favourite picture of him too.

Burke, very much like Sather always makes trade deadlines and the draft fun to follow... I have to admit.

He's nowhere near classy enough to take rocks in his drinks. Or to use a cup, for that matter.

He is looking kind of lardy at that.

If he did the honourable thing and fell on his own sword, he'd break through the thin ice and be gone.....
