10:03 AM ET 06.23 | Summer workouts are important for any school, but this year they are taking on a new meaning at West Virginia. "I want to play as many plays as possible without dying," sophomore linebacker Jared Barber said. The Big 12 has a lot to do with that. The Mountaineers defense will be playing against more up-tempo, fast-paced offenses this season and will have to be in better physical condition than last season. "With the Big 12, we're going to be playing a lot more plays on offense and defense," Barber said. "Our conditioning is going to have to be a lot better from the Big East. They're definitely hitting on the conditioning part. It's definitely harder from last summer and winter workouts, but we're taking it pretty well." Last season, West Virginia's defense played 920 plays in 13 games, averaging 70.8 plays per game. The Big 12 opponents on West Virginia's 2012 schedule averaged 74.9 plays per game last season. Oklahoma led the conference at 80.9 plays per game, and other spread teams in the conference such as Baylor, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State were in the high 70-plays per game range. The Mountaineers have to be prepared for more plays with less rest in between.

The Mountaineers should have went to the SEC, where they wouldn't have to worry so much about other teams offense!!!! LOL. :-)

This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it. It's her future she's worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare big government state that she's being forced to live in! These solutions are just common sense in her opinion. This was in the Waco Tribune Herald, Waco , TX , Nov 18, 2011PUT ME IN CHARGE . . .Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get womenNorplant birth control implants or tubal legations. Then, we'll testrecipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place. In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good.."Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all ofthe above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem. If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.AND While you are on Gov't subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov't welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

Yes she sure sounds like a 21 year old.

OK, enough is enough. Storms damaged my home, my truck, worked us hard last Saturday to pick up truck load after load of limbs. Last evening, my ac quit. Ok, silver lining, be positive, even though all this plus it is raining for the 5th day in a row, good news is that my Wife is not pregnant, see there is always something good to think about. Stay positive.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. You and your wife (especially your wife) are in our thoughts and prayers.

Back on track comment: It seems to me (from the comfort of my man cave) that the up tempo offenses real advantage is reducing defensive adjustments (blitz or nickel back packages) rather than wearing out the opposition.

First thing, the SEC didn't want them. Thank God. Second thing, LSU 47 WVU 21. If LSU can put 47 on WVU, just think of what the others could do. WVU won't be very competitive in the B12 this next season, they would get killed in the SEC. But, thank you Lord, we won't have to find out. TAM is horrible enuf w/o the mountain aggies being in the SEC also.

LOL, what teams in the SEC, besides LSU and Bama, would "kill" West Virginia, if they were to go into the SEC??? Surely you are not talking about Miss, Miss State, Kentucky, Vandy, Tennessee, Florida, Arky and Georgia???

LSU hung 47 on them-without a good QB, that would work for ALL of the SEC, they wanted no part of us.

LMFAO, yeah I guess West Virginia is afraid of Miss, Miss State, Kentucky, Vandy, Tennessee, Florida, Arky and Georgia.
