10:16 AM ET 06.23 | Yes, Texas Tech's football game at Texas State will be televised by one of the ESPN platforms on Sept. 8. No, it will not be the Longhorn Network. Any possibility of ESPN placing the nonconference matchup on the LHN disappeared in about 24 hours. The result underscored just what a hot-button issue the Texas network continues to be, 10 months after its on-air debut. Things came to a head when Tech's Rivals site, RedRaiderSports.com, reported Thursday night that Tech was strongly opposed to airing the game on the network. The site reported that Tech would consider canceling the game and playing just 11 games next season. "We are extremely disappointed," a Tech source told RedRaiderSports.com. About an hour later, the news had circumnavigated the known Twitter world. By Friday, two sources confirmed that the Longhorn Network was no longer an option.

Even in our down years (most years between 1966 and 2007) I've always respected the Irish. Hated to lose, but lots of respect for the school and football program. Can't say the same about arrogant azzzzez in ann arbor.
