10:25 AM ET 06.23 | Kevin Youkilis is going somewhere soon. The Boston Red Sox continue to move toward a trade of Youkilis, speaking with multiple clubs, according to major-league sources. The White Sox have engaged in heavy dialogue with Boston regarding Youkilis, but the Dodgers and possibly other teams remain in the mix, sources said. The Red Sox likely would prefer to send Youkilis to a National League team ??? one they are not competing with for a postseason spot and would avoid in the early rounds of the playoffs. The White Sox's need for Youkilis is obvious - third baseman Brent Morel is out indefinitely with a back injury, and his replacement, Orlando Hudson, is batting just .160 in 81 at-bats. The Dodgers likely would play Youkilis at third base, where they ranked 12th in the NL in OPS entering Friday night's play. The Braves also have scouted Youkilis recently, according to published reports. The Indians also had interest in Youkilis, but would prefer to save their limited resources for a run at a left fielder or starting pitcher, sources said.

Yes he was. At least this is an actual baseball thread, but it is coming from Fox Sports and it follows their longstanding practice of attributing "news" to un-named sources, so not sure how reliable it is.

Youk is not the problem in Boston...
But he's not the solution either.
Wasn't Billy Bean looking at him in 'Moneyball'? It's not too late :-)

Why would anyone look to back filling for an injured player with an injured player ? Makes no sense

Middlebrooks is not "waiting in the wings". 31 RBI in 39 games along with a .319 BA means he is front and center and not going anywhere.

Sox have got to get a little bidding war going or they will end up with the equivalent of Chris "not that one" Carpenter.

He won't get them a Top Prospect or a 4 or 5th Starter, their better off keeping him, he can be invaluable during Playoff run as wells in the second season! New if his Good Karma is Gone Dump Him!

Red Sox need to focus on their young players, even if it costs them a playoff spot this year. I think they should trade Ellsbury when he gets back. He is their biggest, bluest chip.

he feels like an atlanta brave to me. i dont know where they would fit him in at the moment but with chipper on his way out he would be a great replacement for two-three years.

you are a fool... he's been upstaged by new, more productive players... and boston just needs some fine tuning (switching Bard back to setup man is a good start). We'll get over missing Youk... life goes on
