Caps close to announcing new coach

Take your time, no hurry. The aren't going to be playing hockey until December at the earliest.

I liked Adam Oates as a player, but he only has three asst. coach jobs in his career. Tough enough?

I thought I was looking at John Travolta behind the bench during these playoffs until I realized it was Adam Oates...he may want to find a new stylist.

Riberio is a decent replacement for Semin.

don't get me wrong, he's got amazing talent...but he's petty and hard to deal with off the ice. Not exactly the kind of vet that Caps need. On the ice I like the move.

Doesn't look like the Caps are going down the 'coach regurgitation' path, and that is a good thing for hockey................

Good insight Foiler. He looks like a real **** too and I have heard those rumblings before too.

LMAO! He should fit right in. Interesting to see if Oates stays in the running. I like him but admit I don't really have a strong opinion one way or the other.

Interesting choice by the Caps. They're biggest issue is getting Ovechkin happy and producing again, which stands to happen under the offense-minded Oates. But no head coaching experience at any level? Ought to be interesting...
