08:21 AM ET 06.25 | SEC country has become a titletown unto itself over the past half-decade. College athletics has never witnessed a run like this by one conference in the most prestigious sports. If South Carolina wins its third straight College World Series, the SEC would have 13 of 21 national titles in baseball, football and men's basketball since 2005-06. The scoreboard in those sports would read: SEC 13, Big 12 2, ACC 2, Pac-12 2, Big East 1, WAC 1, Big Ten 0. The SEC could have a clean sweep of 2011-12 trophies in football, men's basketball and baseball. ... Throw in women's basketball and, if South Carolina wins in baseball, the SEC would have 15 of 28 championships in the so-called Big Four sports since 2005-06.

They are. The proof is in the pudding.

I woulds like to compare to Pac, when UCLA dominated bball, and USC dominated baseball and fb in the early 70's.

And not to nitpick, but SCe is down 1-0 in the best of 3.

They must oversign in all sports.

They oversign in every sport...

Yes, they "do".

I am surprised it took as long as 8 posts before someone brought the butthurt to the article.

Yes probably true but it comes at the expense of academics and isn't that really what a university should be good at.

Yeah, too bad we don't all run clean, upstanding programs like they do in the B1G.....all football programs should strive to be more like the tOSU and PSU programs of the last couple of years

Just another example of where the priorities are in the South. The public schools rank at or near the bottom, obesity rates are at all time high, poverty is growing but they have good sports teams and that is most important.
