08:09 AM ET 06.26 | In the case of Jeremy Lin, Knicks coach Mike Woodson may have sealed the deal in Tinseltown. Woodson returned from a five-day bonding session in Los Angeles with Lin, Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler, and is more positive than ever Lin will re-sign with the Knicks this July. In his first in-person interview since being hired as Knicks coach on Memorial Day Weekend, Woodson told The Post the visit was rewarding and he got a clear sense Lin is ready to re-sign. Lin becomes a restricted free agent on Sunday, and the Knicks can match any offer. "Absolutely he's going to be back," Woodson said at Ahmad Rashad's charity golf outing in Scarsdale that raised $300,000 for White Plains Hospital.

Sure, they were together for 5 days, but once Carmelo started talking, nobody could get a word in edgewise.

In a nutshell, this is what Lin amounts to for the Knicks.......Tickets sales and merchandise sales equals Dollars for Dolan. It also Keeps Grunwald and Woodson employed for now. As for the the basketball side of this, Lin is still somewhat average and marginal. He still lacks experience and have some flaws all of which can be attained given proper time and tutoring. As for signing Lin to an already cash strapped Knicks franchise, if its between matching a offer for Lin for something foolish like 5 year 30 mil, or letting him walk, I would pick the latter. He's simply not worth the stretch IMO. Hype asides, Lin is still a work in progress for all you Lin protractors. Woodson has overstretched in his undaunting zeal for Lin since the moment he became permenant Knicks head coach. But what else can expect when it comes from a marginal HC hire to his zeal for a marginal PG in Lin. As it stands right now, Knicks fans should have very marginal expectations with all of the marginal hires, PG, injuries and the neverending story of one Stat with his statistical Statlishous performances these past two years. Naysayers and Linatics........get a grip. You want diehard Knicks fans to believe in all of this maginalism.

The Knicks would be smart to move Anthony and find pieces that can work off of the pick and roll.
All in all, a team of Melo, Stoudemire and Lin will not be better than 6th in the East.

Really? Who are the 5 better teams? I'll give you Miami of course, maybe Indy but thats it. Boston is done, who knows about Philly, Orlando is in shambles and will likely trade Dwight and Chicago wont have Rose and most likely Deng either..
Knicks will be fine with a lineup that can actually play together for a whole year. Thats the key
