08:10 AM ET 06.26 | Perhaps at this point the speculation will fizzle. Amid a report that stated the Houston Rockets are hoping to amass enough trade assets to make a deal with the Orlando Magic for Dwight Howard -- even though Howard would only be in Houston for one season before becoming an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2013 -- a source with knowledge of Howard's thinking said Monday that there was "not a chance" Howard would be persuaded to remain in Houston if traded there, and would leave next summer to sign elsewhere. ESPN.com reported Monday morning that the Rockets ... were trying to move up in order to acquire two high first-round picks that would be sent to the Magic as part of a package for Howard.

One of my favorite lines in the 40 Year Old Virgin, "It's about to get really, really, colorful". There will be some deals made Orlando wants to move him and Houston doesn't care that the chances are slim for him to return someone will lose their job in Houston for this gamble if it doesn't pan out.

Is there anyone that still has respect for Howard? The guy is a great talent but it's obvious winning isn't his top priority, probably not even in the top 3...This is the problem when someone's "brand" is the most important thing in their life, and he still managed to screw that up

What? Being the spokesperson for oil and energy companies isn't glamorous enough for Dwight? Houston, we have a problem!

I remember all the naysayers including myself talking so negative about the drama Lebron caused for not wanting to stay will failure of a franchise. He opted to leave the Cavs in a say, rather dispicable manner to attain his goal of a new start and a legitimate shot at a title. Look at him now. As for the Magic, no one has their hands tied except for themselves. The had the opportunity to trade Howard last year and elected not to. The still have the opportunity to trade Howard and we'll all see. This is not Howards delima or drama, its the selfserving Magic.
As for Houston, if their dumb enough to trade their future on a humble (1st round picks) and a hope, its not Howard's fault. Dwightmare has informed the Rockets of his intent not to extend their and become an unrestricted free agent. My question is....how exactly is the Howard's fault? That is, Houston foolishly putting itself in harms way largely based on their own accord. People its high time we stop blaming the Lebrons, Anthonys and Howards of the world. Grant they've been a bit undecided (not Anthony however), but no one other than the teams involved in the drama are forcing their hand. They simply can elect not to go the course. LOOK AT LEBRON NAYSAYERS.......I never thought I'd say it, but I'm happy for Lebron. Cleveland was a disaster and so is Magicland.

He extended because he is a moron.
The bonehead should have not signed, then he could go wherever he wants this offseason.
Dallas and Boston both have the money to sign him.
In the end, this drama will go on forever because no team will want to deal for him unless he signs a long term extension.
