08:13 AM ET 06.26 | The White Sox didn't give up much for Kevin Youkilis, meaning the same could probably have been true for a number of MLB clubs. That means the White Sox have made a sensational trade or the 33-year-old Youkilis' decline is far more dramatic than most of us non-major-league scouts had imagined. If it's the latter, the Indians are excused, because Youkilis will likely have a minimal impact in Chicago. However, if it's the former, if Youkilis rolls into the Windy City and is energized and inspired by the change of scenery and kicked-to-the-curb treatment by his former team, enough to help lead the White Sox to the Central Division title -- then the Indians will have some explaining to do.

I've watched this guy play his whole career, and from what I have seen for the last year and a half, I see nothing that would lead me to believe that he will come close to being the player he was in his prime. I think your Indians are safe.

How long is this going to be a story? He's no longer the star player he once was, plus he's only a rental so it's not like the Red Sox were going to come away with a lot. The 2 guys they picked up won't fill any needs for this year but the pitcher is only 25 so he could work out with more time in the minors. I hope Youk does well, but it's not like he's a difference maker.
