08:01 AM ET 06.27 | The Lions' offseason of unpleasantness rolled on Tuesday with the arrest of Aaron Berry in Pennsylvania. [If] there's an easy remedy, they have no idea what it is. Obviously, the team's message isn't getting through, which is an indictment of clueless, selfish players. It's also becoming an indictment of the Lions, who just chalked up another arrest and could face NFL financial penalties because of the repeated nonsense. ... Character is an issue now, and the team can't deny it. Players are responsible for their own behavior, and no one should let them off the hook. But management and coaches are in charge of the Lions reputation, and it's getting scorched.

Although the story is about Berry, it is appropriate that the interns have chosen a picture of Suh to accompany the story. He's the poster boy of the Lions' bad behavior and poor sportsmanship.

" Obviously, the team's message isn't getting through, "

Obviously, the team's message IS getting through. Unfortunately, it's the wrong message.

For most teams character already was an issue.

Exactly. Character was an issue the minute he made an issue out of "the handshake". He's done nothing to take control of this team and as happy as I am to see them competitive again, they won't last too long at this rate.

Next time Tom Coughlin's job is "in jeopardy", he needs to take over the Lions and straighten them out.

Character to the teams of the NFL is just another word in the dictionary. Their meaning for this word is if you run fast, very mobile, and can hit your are our man no matter what other problems you have.

Seems like the Lions are the Portland Jailblazers from a few years ago.
