08:04 AM ET 06.27 | Carmelo Anthony has lost some weight, but not his optimism. [Anthony] is ready to shed the label of one of the best players in the NBA without a title. Soon. "I believe that my time is coming," Anthony said Tuesday morning at Madame Tussauds New York during an unveiling of his own wax figure. "I'm a big believer in that, whether it's this year or next year. I truly believe that my time is coming and we're going to keep playing for that." Anthony has been working hard in the offseason to get there after being criticized in past years for carrying extra weight into training camp. After the Knicks lost to the Heat in the first round of the playoffs, Knicks coach Mike Woodson suggested that Melo, along with a few of his teammates, needed to get into better shape.

That wax figure could play better defense.

The hate is strong in you Annakin Hiley. Some players are just not great defenders and Melo hasn't shown anything to suggest otherwise in his career.

After 9 years in the NBA, he now thinks his "time is coming"?

Durant, Dirk, D-Rose yeah they are all stellar defenders. And Melo played great defense once woodson came in. The whole team did

I'm not ashamed to say it but I am pro Melo, he has did more for the team then Amare has. He basically carried them against the Heat eventhough they lost. Just because he is not a good defensive player doesnt mean the guy sucks. This is a team game and they only had 2 defensive skilled players on the entire roster in Chandler and Shumpert. give the guy a break.
