Dunn on record pace for strikeouts

08:11 AM ET 06.27 | Though White Sox DH Adam Dunn has slipped deep into a slump, Robin Ventura is confident he'll snap out of it soon, but still ... The whiffs just keep on coming for Adam Dunn. Concerned? If he's hitting home runs and driving in runs, Dunn's strikeout numbers -- he has 121 after going 0-for-4 and striking out twice in the White Sox' 3-2 victory Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins -- won't matter. But his 21 strikeouts -- and no homers -- during a 3-for-36 slump in his last 10 games are worrisome. "It's the kind of strikeouts," manager Robin Ventura said. "There are some when it looks like he's missing more than when you see him missing a pitch. He might be out front more with a timing thing that can be worked on."

Looks like the real Adam Dunn has finally shown up.

June 27, 2012  08:25 AM ET

Isn't he on the verge every year?

June 27, 2012  08:31 AM ET

At least he can take pride in accomplishing something.

Worrisome is putting it mildly. If this was New York or Boston the media wouldn't be so gentle about it.

It's amazing....your paid a ton of money to hit a baseball......your expected to hit the baseball....not swing and miss.....I can't believe he's still in the game....if any regular working stiff performed his or her job as bad as Dunn performs his they'd be fired.....

In fairness, he has a lousy batting average, strikes out a ton but also leads the AL in walks.

He doesn't connect much, but when he does, ball go far.

Doesn't take away the fact that he sucks though.

Brett Favre?

Walk. Strikeout. HR.

That is the world of Adam Dunn.

June 27, 2012  09:51 AM ET

Stick a fork in him.

At the end of his contract and probably out of baseball he can look back at his time in Chicago and think GM Williams for his help in padding his retirement.

121 K's before the all star break is amazing. At least his flailing away is moving the air in the stadium around and keeping the fans cool.

I'd rather have Dunn than Soriano. Dunn has 9 more homers, 9 more RBI (even with Castro batting ahead of Soriano), and 61 more walks! Also, Dunn's OPS is .061 higher.

could they have found a more **** photo of Dunn?

Worrisome is a negative word. How is the Chicago media being mild?

He hit a 3 run HR today in Chicago's braining of the Twins.

He leads the AL in walks and has 24 HR. Give him some credit.
