08:17 AM ET 06.27 | Turns out Andrew Ference didn't have a faulty glove. At long last it appears that [Ference] is publicly debunking the whole "glove malfunction" explanation for flipping the bird at the rabid Montreal fans in the Bell Centre [after a Game 4 playoff goal in 2011]. ... Fast-forward to this summer, and Ference has recently picked up his blogging pace and opened up a twitter account (@ferknuckle) this summer. His first blog entry for the "Good Men Project" is all about accountability and personal responsibility, and that brought Ference back to his heated Habs moment. Within that blog post Ference admits in his own writing for the first time that he did in fact flip the middle finger towards Habs fans in an obscene fit of pique.

Regardless of how obnoxious fans can be, and every team has them, a player should try to rise above the chaos. There are plenty of players and teams that get their share.

However, players are human, he let his emotions get the best of himself, and he admitted he was wrong. Or did he? I take it he was at least trying to do so considering the name of the blog or whatever.

Moving on.

Today's political correctness is really getting out of control. What, do they think that the Hab fans will be offended and NOT go to games anymore?

June 27, 2012  09:53 AM ET

Habs who? I give them the bird right now! Funny how we can let players fight on the ice, but god forbid they engage in non-verbal communication of displeasure with the crowd.

Which is worse - Ference flipping off the fans or Milbury beating them with their own footwear?

Yea, but did you post this in a blog and on your Twitter account? Huh? Huh? Not much of a contrite act if you didn't!

No.

"Yes, Ference flipped Habs fans the bird"

Obviously Ference doesn't speak French otherwise he'd be using a repertoire of choice words like ****, tabarnac and merde. As is, he has to fall back on his nonverbal skills.
