08:21 AM ET 06.27 | Somewhere, a Lucite case sits empty and in need of a treasured hockey puck. The puck was last spotted sliding across center ice at Staples Center while the Kings were in the corner celebrating their Game 6, clinching victory. A video shows the chunk of rubber then being casually flipped into the air and in the giant glove of the New Jersey Devils' Patrik Elias. The puck has not been seen since. Elias' agent says his client is on vacation and unreachable. The Devils say they don't know anything about anything. The NHL says it will launch an investigation only if the Kings request it. This week, the increasingly frustrated Kings are going to request it. "This is a big deal," said Luc Robitaille. ... "We've got to get that puck back."

Hey Luc, grab another puck and say its the one. Who would know? and Who would care?

The Pronger was there?

Shades of "Richard Head" Pronger. This is just a bush league move by the Devil/s involved. I would hope that Lou Lamorello would demand that his players return the puck in question immediately.

Right. Just jump on it with your skates on a few times and take a few slapshots and nobody the wiser.

My guess? Martin Brodeur. He might want to keep that puck as a memento of his last Stanley Cup appearance.

It's probably the only puck they used all night that did not end up behind him.

So far there has always been a loser in the cup finals unless I am missing something, I dont agree with players refusing to shake a hand or disrespect the game but I like the fire, the player on the losing team that doesnt accept losing and it still upsets them, those are the ones that are leaders.

It's not a secret the puck is a trophy, a spoil of war, both teams know this and the Kings had a chance to grab the puck before a Devils player from what I can remember, the Kings beat the Devils, but they didn't take the fight out of them...
