08:14 AM ET 06.28 | Officially declared a free agent earlier this week, Cuban outfielder Yasel Puig is gaining interest in Chicago. An MLB source confirmed that the Cubs are among the teams in contact with Torres, and a source with another team that is believed to be involved said not to rule the Cubs out because of the nine-year, $27 million commitment they made to [Jorge Soler] earlier this month. ... The White Sox, who have done deals with Torres for Jose Contreras, Alexei Ramirez and Dayan Viciedo, are also believed to be interested in the 21-year-old Puig, who defected earlier this year. He's 6-foot-3, 210 and fast, and hit .330 with 18 home runs, 47 RBIs and 78 runs scored in 327 at-bats with the Cienfuegos Elephants in the 20-11 Serie Nacional.

The question is whether 21 is his real age?

Wow! Sounds like he can help 'em minimize those 17-1 losses.

Ah yes, the standard file photo of Ken Williams used yet again.

I just saw some pix of him... He's closer to 31...

But if you look at Jose Contreras (who was "30" when he came over - wink wink) - the Cubans do hold up pretty well.
