Wedge fed up with results

08:18 AM ET 06.28 | Mariners manager Eric Wedge neared a breaking point Wednesday afternoon. Wedge is getting fed up with seeing the same hitters beaten on the same types of pitches over and over again. Baseball is a game of constant adjustments in the chess game between hitters and pitchers and those who fail to adjust continuously will get left behind. It's one thing to talk about seeing pieces develop on a losing team. ... "It's frustrating because I know these guys are a much better offensive club than what we're seeing them do here at home," Wedge said. "I don't want to hear anything about the fences, or this, that and the other. It's about what they're doing at home plate and putting up good at-bats and hitting the ball hard."

Wedge is looking more and more like Goose Gossage.

Young team...lots of growing pains.....

With a 32-45 record and knowing you are not going anywhere this year all he is doing is telling the management it is not my fault and I am ready for next year.

Only good hitters can "adjustment to pitches", the M's don't have good hitters!!!

What's worse than just being a bad baseball team? Being bad AND being irrelevant. Welcome to Seattle where there's more buzz in town about the upcoming Seahawk camp, a stolen NBA team and the possible construction of a new arena. We desperately need new ownership here. Mark Cuban are you listening?

.....seattle has a good young team....always darkest before the dawn...

Ichiro's impending departure should get the ball rolling...

yeah, very young. Score 20 runs one night, get shut out 3 games in a row later. Now I see why some coaches refuse to play rookies--you don't know what they can or can't do, they don't know either, and they haven't learned how to do anything consistently. But the only way to find out is to let them play

Dude...

Eric Wedge had a total of 100 Plate Appearances in the Bigs...

Not like he can bestow his wisdom and experience on the youngsters...

Kind of like Charlie Weis yelling at O-Linemen for not being in shape.

Red Sox are in town for a 4 game series.

Red Sox playing well, M's not playing up to their usual low standards--theme music should be the Ventures playing "Wipeout"

Baseball is a Game of Patience, they will come around, the're pressing because, guess what? The Managers pressing!

I think you are right. I wonder if someone is leaning on him, or if he is just losing patience

Wedge is a good manager, and his total plate appearances are irrelevant. He is correct, too; the Mariners just don't have enough talent in their lineup.

Wedge is a terrible manager. One play off team in a decade of managing in the bigs. He had some good teams in Cleveland but he still didn't win. He is terrible at bringing along good young players and in his perfect world he would have a career back up catcher at every position. He ruins young position players and especially young pitchers. If you get in his dog house you will never get another chance. He thinks he's the smartest guy in baseball. Seattle will regret ever hiring him and the cronies he brought with him.
