08:11 AM ET 06.28 | Boston is playing a waiting game of sorts. Danny Ainge said [Wednesday] that Garnett's choice will likely be between the Celtics and retirement. ... Ainge admitted yesterday that until Garnett makes that decision, and the Celtics general manager believes he will either retire or choose the Celtics, the rest of his plans are on hold. Ainge would clearly prefer a quick resolution. "Somewhat. We could be on hold," Ainge said of the KG effect. "The sooner we get Kevin done the better it will be for us, and the sooner we have an idea of the direction we need to go. (But) we don't want to rush him. We don't want to pressure him. You guys know Kevin." Ainge added he will likely know by Sunday about what route his Hall of Fame-bound center has chosen.

He going to remain in Boston for another two seasons and then retire. His loyalty is with the Celtics and he will not fit with any other team at this point of his career.

KG is an icon. I hate to see him go; especially at the top of his game, but noone outruns father time.

Yes, he isn't the player he was 10 years ago, but he's still better than most of his contemporaries.
