08:11 AM ET 06.29 | While the entire draft is a lottery unto itself, picking from the lottery has some better odds, and yet the Kings still couldn't believe their good fortune to see Thomas Robinson sitting there at No. 5. And this one was virtually angst-free. According to sources within the organization -- and, surprise, surprise, suddenly everyone was very chatty -- it took all of about two seconds to inform the league of the team's intentions. "We felt going into the draft, (Robinson) was one of the top couple talents, and even as of this morning, we were fairly sure he would not be there at (No. 5)," a visibly excited team basketball president Geoff Petrie said. "We had (Robinson) going (second). But the draft's the draft."

I thought the Cavs would grab him at 4.

QUOTE(#3):

They're loaded at the 4 position. Maybe Thompson or Cousins will be gone before the season starts.

Cousins will play the 5, this is a good pick. For once I think they've added a winning piece not just someone who will put up stats. The fact that he plays so hard and is pretty mature for his age can only help this team in need of leadership.

Three other teams are going to regret not taking this guy. Sacramento is getting a steal.

Rookie of the Year in 2012-13.

Big steal and a very respectable young man, I wish him well

Another bone-headed decision from His Highness?

Easily one of my favorite players....I wish this dude the best...That story about his mom and stuff was tough for this cat and he didn't let it break him....dude is driven not like many of the guys getting into the league, it takes them a couple years to reach this guys mentality

Is this the only picture available for the Kings? Every thread with them included has this same pic of Cousins probably missing this lay-up lol

Cousins and Robinson...thats a formidable front court to go with the likes of Tyreke Evans and Marcus Thorton. Theyre slowly figuring it out in Sac-Town. Could have a real nice team when these guys grow and get together.

I think Fab Mello and Sullinger if his back is good is better for the Celtic

The Kings should have a great player for the future!

good for Sacramento. If they get a vet PG/leader it would be very good for their progress.
