Rockets' plan comes unraveled

08:12 AM ET 06.29 | As the draft approached, Houston GM Daryl Morey did what he could to keep from adding more young players, but, in the end, wound up picking at Nos. 12, 16 and 18. "I would as soon have one or two veterans," [Kevin McHale said a few days ago]. ... "You can only get so young in our league and be successful. It's that blend of trying to make sure we don't have all guys who are 19 to 20 years old." Yet with Lamb (20), White (21) and Jones (20), the Rockets now have 10 of the current 15 players on their roster who are 24 or under and eight who are under 23 and under. It was a week that began with the Rockets in pursuit of Dwight Howard to pull their wagon and ended with them needing to buy a minivan so that McHale could drive his kiddie corp to practice.

Oops...No Howard? Well looks like McHale better do something to save face.

Looks like maybe Scola & Lowry might just be heading to L.A. for Gasol. He needs some star power and it looks like Pau is his best opportunity now.

McHale needs to work on a trip to Disneyland with all the kids.

lol....says the laker fanseriously speaking- why in the world would they trade their remaining legit NBA players they have for a guy (pau) that is basically beign run out of LA? if this happens- morley makes MJ look like jerry west

Exactly my thought, only Laker fans feel that's the move he has to make.

The Rockets have been just misses from the 8th seed a couple years in a row. Going all in or bottoming out would be ok, to keep lingering in the middle to add mid teen picks isn't progressing them anywhere

Once again we see how difficult it is to build a championship team in the NBA. And again it makes you wonder how Cuban finally found the combination and squandered it all on a pipe dream.

If D-Will says no thank you then you can stick the fork in Cuban's grand scheme.

Ugh.....this team is in deep doo doo

Trying to nab D-12 from the Magic or Pau from the Lakers is the plan for the Rockets.

Because McHale has a hardon for Gasol. If not, the Lakers have the Hawks to deal with.

Send Pau to the Hawks, Marvin needs to get out of the 2nd round of the playoffs. Josh Smith is ready for the LA scene.
