08:29 AM ET 06.29 | Randy Edsall reportedly opened his conversation with veteran Dunbar football coach Lawrence Smith by saying wanted to keep local talent in Maryland. "I remember Coach Edsall telling me he wanted to start a pipeline," Smith said. "I know he's trying to start a pipeline from here to Maryland." On Wednesday, the first piece of the proverbial Dunbar-to-Maryland pipeline was put in place with the commitment of [6-foot-4, 230-pound] Poets defensive end Malik Jones. ... "It's very rare for a Baltimore guy to go to Maryland," Jones said. "I've been trying to talk to our quarterback, William Crest. I've been trying to sway him already. He's not sure where he's going to go yet."

Uh, maybe I'm reading the article wrong, but it appears they are referring to a defensive end for a team with the mascot/nickname of the "Poets"?

Yeah, I saw that, too......must strike fear in the hearts of opponents when the Running Poets hit the field.

We've got some really bad HS mascots in Arky (Wampus Cats, Bo-weavels, Red Bugs, etc) but no fighting Poets

Holy Moly, did any of you guys get an FM from a mod/editor apologizing for the earlier headline screwup on this thread?!?

I just about fell out of my chair, FN actually addressing a site frack up!

I sincerely appreciate the effort they made, however, and respectfully request efforts to cut down on the lag and double-posting issues, thank you very much.
