Will ownership issues hinder Wild's spending?

08:41 AM ET 07.01 | The Wild, who have gone four seasons without making the playoffs, are actually in a position to afford both Parise and Suter, although the team's financial status became a bit complicated last week when 38-percent stockholder Phil Falcone, a New York hedge fund manager, had civil charges for impropriety filed against him by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Falcone and Wild majority owner Craig Leipold are believed to have right of first refusal to buy each other out if either wants to sell his interest in the team. Leipold, or someone else, would be expected to buy Falcone's share at fair market value if he were forced to sell to pay SEC fines. Meanwhile, word within the NHL is that Leipold might be willing to sell the Wild after a new league labor deal is in place. Signing Parise and/or Suter certainly would add value to the franchise.
