08:01 AM ET 07.02 | Many outside of Philadelphia and Minnesota may not recall Thomas Tapeh, but he'll try to make a name for himself as a high school coach. [Tapeh], who played fullback for three seasons with the Eagles, has been named the new head football coach at Woodrow Wilson in Camden. The 32-year-old Tapeh replaced Chris Crowley, who resigned after the season. "I'm very excited for this opportunity," Tapeh said. A 2004 fifth round draft choice of the Eagles from the University of Minnesota, Tapeh played for the Birds in 2004, 2006 and 2007. He missed the 2005 season due to a dislocated hip injury that he suffered late in the 2004 season. Tapeh appeared in two games for the Minnesota Vikings during his final NFL season in 2008.

He's been out of the league longer than a certain former Packers quarterback, but not quite as long as Jeff George.

Indeed. I agree. If you can't be on the field, coaching has to be the next best thing.

Unheralded job he had in NFL as a blocking fullback. Now I hope he gets his reward and dues by teaching and coaching young men in the future.
