Reasons Denver may struggle

08:03 AM ET 07.02 | One of the NFL's most intriguing teams, Denver, has at least one reason for optimism in the form of Peyton Manning, but the Broncos aren't without a number of elements working against their success, either. It's rough schedule overall and brutal early. The networks wanted Peyton Manning early so that meant tough opponents early -- 1. Steelers, 2. at Atlanta, 3. Houston; 4. Raiders; 5. at NE; 6. at San Diego; 7. bye; 8. New Orleans; 9. at Cincy; 10. At Cam and Carolina, 2. Manning may need a year to shake off rust and rebuild arm strength. 3. Linebacker D.J. Williams beginning season serving six-game suspension. He's their best all-around linebacker.

Tough Schedule, Thank Tebow!!!!!!

July 2, 2012  08:18 AM ET

As the perennial winners in a weak division, Peyton and the Colts were used to this. They were playing first-place teams in intra-conference and inter-conferenece games, but their division schedule was always soft. So, no difference. If the Tebow-led Broncos could take the AFC West, it should be a piece of cake for them this year.

And if Peyton get hurt, or really doesn't come back to form? Wanna get away? Southwest Airlines now serves Denver.

It is how parity works. You are served Patsies on a Plate in 2011. If you can beat some of them then they bring on the main course.

I don't want to hear any excuses coming out of Denver.

I just enjoyed trying to read through the Post's two separate numbered lists intermingled. And, looking at week 10, apparently Carolina is no longer marketed as the Carolina Panthers but Cam and and the Carolina Panthers.

Manning will be lucky if he makes it to week 5

And Cam and the Carolina Panthers, who finished 6-10 last season, are part of their list of "tough" opponents.

The dome under his receding hairline is getting bigger, though.

Sorry, Peyton, that's age showing through. And even if you spike your hair, it won't stop the clock.

Reasons Denver could struggle?..............Peyton is laying in the hospital.

July 2, 2012  11:25 AM ET

Why exactly does Cam get a special shout out in that opponent list. Brees, Brady, Rivers, Rothlisberger are all in there but Cam of the 6-10 panthers gets a special listing?

July 2, 2012  11:26 AM ET

Well, well, well, the Peyton haters are out in force today. Kinda like a Favre thread.

By the way, he's going to tear it up and have an awesome season.

well that makes sense because everytime they lose Cam makes sure you know it wasnt his fault and the team should just be as good as him....20 plus turnovers and all
