08:12 AM ET 07.02 | Linsanity has a second coming in the form of speculation about his future. It has been a foregone conclusion for months that Jeremy Lin will re-sign with the New York Knicks, but sources close to the situation say the return of the free agent point guard is not as certain as it once seemed. While both Lin and the Knicks are hoping for a reunion, sources say that if any clubs offer Lin, a restricted free agent, a backloaded contract that pays him an eight-figure salary in the third and fourth years, the Knicks could be given pause about matching the offer. With the new collective bargaining agreement employing a more punitive luxury tax, beginning in the 2013-14 season, the Knicks are extremely concerned about the financial ramifications of such a deal.

It's the return on the investment - the guy is wicked popular there. Personally I'd be shocked if Nash doesn't take that three year 36 million offer & I hope Knicks get Felton to go along with Lin.

If Lin can stick someone up for the dough, then by all means, Lin GO FOR IT!, but just let this heist not be perpertrated on the Knicks. Let Lin go Knicks if you're smart. Lin is still a project and needs a lotta improvement. Look Lin hasn't shown as much promise as Cal Lowery of the Rockets and look at Lowery now. Will Lin really be worth investment for that type of stretch, 4-5 yrs? I say ignore the Linegonatics and be smart. Let this cat walk if its for the big dough!

Felton should go back to NY. He and Amre had good cemistry. Lin and Felton at the point would be great for the team. Nash should finish his career in T.O. Then the Raps should trade Calderon to a team that needs a point. Maybe a sign and trade with Phoneix - Nash for Calderon.

Wont happen the Nash for Calderon deal...Pheonix will need a face of the franchise type of player back, Grant hill would be the closest thing they have and he is no lock on staying he is a free agent as well.
