08:07 AM ET 07.03 | Though conventional wisdom suggested that a Nets team with Joe Johnson could not add Dwight Howard, there is some dissenting opinion. There is still a chance that Orlando Magic star Dwight Howard could become a member of the Brooklyn Nets, according to league sources. The Nets and the Orlando Magic are discussing a trade that would send Howard to the Nets for Brook Lopez, Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks and the Nets' first-round picks in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018, sources said. On Monday, the Nets reached terms with the Atlanta Hawks on a multiplayer trade that will land them All-Star guard Joe Johnson in exchange for several players with expiring contracts, according to sources briefed on the discussions.

If the Nets have Howard Johnson and Williams, they will become one of the top teams in the east. Which means their 1st round draft pick will be a late 1st round pick

Long term doesn't look good for the Nets. They won't have any draft picks to build on.

4 number ones for a guy with back issues? Quite risky.

Good point and then there is still the issue of Howard's bad back, that he had operated on during last season?

I actually think the Nets will make out in this draft IF, and a big IF Howard back is ok. To give all of this up to a guy who is still injured is risky to say the least. Every other year they will not have a first round draft pick. They will be just like Miami, Bulls, Lakers, OKC drafting late in the first round and would rely on trying to get cheap role players to fill out a roster like Miami
