Suter isn't talking to teams, while Parise made progress

08:26 AM ET 07.03 | Wild fans continue to hold out hope that Zach Parise, headed back to the Land of 10,000 Lakes to make his decision, can keep their current favorite son in the Twin Cities. The Wild is still very much on Parise's short list along with a handful of other teams, sources say. ... Parise said he is close to a decision and his agent says that could even come before he leaves Toronto on Tuesday. "All I can say is that we made a lot of progress and we are closer today than yesterday," Parise wrote in a text message to the Star Tribune. Similarly, Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan Suter, whom the Wild is also pursuing, did not make a decision Monday. In fact, Suter has yet to talk to any teams personally. All information is being gathered by his agent, Neil Sheehy.

Possible. Parise went "home" to discuss options with fiance and family. I think he went home to announce playing for the hometown team.

The fact Parise went back to Minnesota all but means he's going to announce the Wild.
After all this Lebronesque hype he's drummed up I hardly see him being on a team where he isn't the captain and has to share the attention. I wish Shero would withdraw the offer and focus on some cheaper options.

I agree with you though. Parise is a good player, but he's going to be overpaid and I'd prefer that another team besides the Pens overpay him.
Haven't seen anything more about the Pens and Semin.

I wouldn't want to see Semin on the Pens. He would corrupt the **** out of Geno. No thanks.
If Parise doesn't come to the Pens, the word is that Shero won't go after any other high paying forward. He might work out a trade to try to go after a D-Man, but there might not be much out there by that point.
