After attorneys for Roger Clemens dispatched investigators to Florida to locate a woman who allegedly was sexually assaulted by Brian McNamee in a hotel pool seven years ago, reps for the pitcher's former trainer and steroids accuser say they plan to take the high road - despite whatever dirt McNamee has on Clemens' personal life. "Brian knows a lot about Roger's moral character and knows a lot about his extracurricular activities," said Earl Ward, McNamee's lawyer. "There's a lot that he could say to damage Roger's reputation, but we plan on taking the high road."

Yeah ... sounds like the high road to me! What a bunch of slimy weasels!

January 12, 2008  08:54 AM ET

Its just sad really.

I just want to hear the truth.

JUst tell the truth

This IS how it is done though. More mud. There will be piles of mud-slinging before this is over, and it may never be over, look at B*nds...
If he did it, and we all think he did, someone, somewhere, maybe for alot of money, will step up and verify his use. Then he would be exposed as well...worse.

keep the dig around roidger, you might need it to fill in the hole you'll have to crawl into soon.

January 12, 2008  10:02 AM ET

PW I disagree the way there are going I think Roidger will have to climb down a ladder to get into that hole.

January 12, 2008  10:45 AM ET

When this is over they are going to throw him in and bury him.

January 12, 2008  10:45 AM ET

Roger makes himself look just a little worse each and every day.....

January 12, 2008  10:47 AM ET

That digging can go both ways. Roger better watch it or McNamee's people might come up with those receipts for the drums of vaseline and Crisco that he and Andy Pettite ordered sent to their shared road trip hotel rooms.

January 12, 2008  11:23 AM ET

Please Brian McNamee, for the sake ouf our entertainment, do NOT take the high road!

January 12, 2008  11:30 AM ET

Like Bob said, your best friend is your worst enemy because he knows all your secrets.

Steroids and HGH are not a good think for MLB, but the commissioner went about it in the wrong way, hiring an executive from the boston team, to conduict interviews, couldn't he have hired any other third party disinterested professional? Then they zero in on two pushers, in the NY area, and name a few other names. Maybe he wanted to keep control of the process, and keep the investigation limited? The whole thing stinks. Now just these three players are being called to congress. Come on people, if roids and HGH are wide spread, they better start calling more witnesses, all accross the country. This is ugly, real ugly. Maybe they will be coming to your town soon?

January 12, 2008  11:52 AM ET

let em come tony and let them find everything. Better it to be all out in the open. Wether it be my team or yours. And there were plenty of Boston players in the report, so that card is getting old. If they find dealers anywhere else bring em in and do the same thing. I have no problem with that. Then the entire mess can be dealt with, and tougher testing put into place.

January 12, 2008  12:19 PM ET

I'm all for testing babe, and against drugs, its the method, that is being used. We have talked about it before, Let the cards fall where they will, 80 names is a start, but these two guys are not just the only pushers, and you know it. Lets get to the heart of the matter, where are the drugs manufactured? Who are the major distributors? Yes embarrass the users, but there's much more of the investigation, that's not getting the news. Your from N.E. and I guess you remember McCarthy, sounds familar?

hey roger, brian's mom and wife was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, maybe you can call your buddy and show some support by asking to lie in congress for you, that'll lift his spirits

January 12, 2008  12:26 PM ET

I have despised Roger Clemens for quite some time due to his ways of a mercenary in MLB. But this is getting out of hand. I can't believe the levels this piece of garbage has lowered himself to to keep a lie alive. Then again, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Never thought I would despise an athlete more than I do Barry Bonds. But this is it. Clemens is a far far far far worse human being than Bonds. Sad day for humans.

He can use the Mike Tyson defense ... "She was askin' for it!"

January 12, 2008  12:51 PM ET

Probably a little more than the string bikini....

McNamee was having sex with the woman in the resort's pool and didn't stop when confronted by security, the documents say. Police were notified. When they arrived, they found McNamee had helped the woman out of the pool and get dressed, according to the documents. Groggy and incoherent, she was taken to the hospital, where the documents said she was found to have GHB, the "date-rape drug," in her system.

The woman told detectives she could not remember details of the encounter in the pool. She said she did not give McNamee permission to have sex with her, and witnesses told detectives they had heard her saying "no" during the encounter, according to the documents.

Detectives later recovered some of her jewelry, an empty beer can and a water bottle containing GHB at the side of the pool.

Police interviewed McNamee hours later, according to the documents, and he denied having sex with the woman or knowing Yankees batting practice pitcher, Charles Wonsowicz, who was also in the pool. McNamee refused to submit a saliva sample for DNA analysis, the documents said.

Although the state attorney's office decided not to press charges, the accusations ended McNamee's career with the Yankees.

The real question is suppose Roger is really innocent....What possibly could he be doing differently to try and clear his name.....Its not like he is defending himself in a guilt conscience way....there really is no good roed to take in this matter....
